How to Make Carrots Using Buttons

HOW TO MAKE CARROTS USING BUTTONS!

I love the way this adorable button carrot turned out! And the best part is...it was FREE! I used items out of my stash to create this tier tray carrot.

 Step 1.

  • I used a piece of thread and feed the thread thru the buttonholes to secure them.
  • I started with the smallest button at the bottom and worked my way up to the largest button. This gave them a carrot shape.

Step 2.

  • Once I was finished stringing the buttons I took them outside and spray painted them with orange spray paint and let them dry.

Step 3.

  • After the paint was dry I glued more of the grass I had died on the top of the buttons and used twine to create a small bow.

To make the greenery at the top of the carrot I cut some pieces off of a Dollar Tree Hula Skirt, a plastic cup with some water, and some green acrylic paint.

  • I put some of the paint into the water and mixed it well.
  • I cut pieces off of the Hula skirt and placed them in the water and paint mixture.
  • I let it sit for a few minutes and then took it out and left it on a piece of wax paper to dry.

Once the grass was dry I secured it to the buttons with glue.
